The Bible Testifies We Must Stop Sinning

Luk 1:37 For nothing will be impossible with God.”

Php 4:13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Mar 9:23 And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.”

People quote these for all their life ambitions, but in hypocrisy they do not believe it includes, ceasing from sin, and instead justify sin. This is written to those who justify sin not those who are trying to follow and learn from Jesus and may be struggling. For those who believe the Bible does not testify we must stop sinning:

1Jn 3:3 And everyone having this expectation in Him cleanses himself, as He is clean.
1Jn 3:4 Everyone doing sin also does lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.
1Jn 3:5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.
1Jn 3:6 Everyone staying in Him does not sin. Everyone sinning has neither seen Him nor known Him.
1Jn 3:7 Little children, let no one lead you astray. The one doing righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous.
1Jn 3:8 The one doing sin is of the devil, because the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of Elohim was manifested: to destroy the works of the devil.
1Jn 3:9 Everyone having been born of Elohim does not sin, because His seed stays in him, and he is powerless to sin, because he has been born of Elohim.

1Jn 5:18 We know that everyone having been born of Elohim does not sin, but the one having been born of Elohim guards himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.

You cannot read theses for what it says and be honest with yourself and claim the Bible does not teach we must stop sinning completely in this life. It is very clear especially verses 6-9 that we MUST stop sinning. If anyone is still sinning they have not yet come to know Jesus and have never seen Him (or have left Him or forgot about Him). This is not speaking about those who are actually putting up a fight and learning, who may have fallen.

These scriptures makes it crystal clear those who are born of God DO NOT SIN. Many go around saying they are born again, yet they are still sinning. Some may have been conceived in the womb and started, but the enemy aborted them through sin, killing them. The enemy invented abortion and he does it spiritually with many.

And Jude, he takes it to another level:

Jud 1:24 And to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you blameless before the presence of His esteem with exceeding joy,

Jude is saying Jesus is able to keep us from stumbling and making mistakes and present us blameless, how many people believe this? How many people believe nothing is impossible with God? Very, very few Christians on this planet believe we can stop sinning, and then there is even less who believe we can come to a place where we do not make mistakes anymore. Yet this is what is expected of us, we are commanded to be like Jesus, look what Peter said:

1Pe 4:1 Therefore, since Messiah suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin
1Pe 4:2 so that he no longer lives the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but according to the desire of Elohim.

Ceased from sin means to stop sinning. Cease means stop. Do you notice how he said suffer in the flesh, most people do not want to suffer at all, not even in waiting, whether physical, mental or emotional. Most people suffer because of sin, not because of righteousness. Many do not want to go through hours of temptation and trials and hold on to Jesus, they do not want to suffer in temptation but instead give in to escape the suffering. And they say they are saved and have victory, but their works show they do not believe in Jesus Words and are slaves to the enemy's words and sin.

These people then take 1 John 1:8 and Romans 7 and twist the scriptures to justify the sins they are still in, to try and justify the very works Jesus came to destroy:

1Jn 3:8 The one doing sin is of the devil, because the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of Elohim was manifested: to destroy the works of the devil.
1Jn 3:9 Everyone having been born of Elohim does not sin, because His seed stays in him, and he is powerless to sin, because he has been born of Elohim.

Rom 8:13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
Rom 8:14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

Jesus came to destroy the works of the enemy, He came to destroy the problem which is sin, the works of darkness. When He appeared it was not to destroy the law nor the consequences for sin which is the second death, the lake of fire, He did not come to legalize sin so we may be justified continuing in it even a little bit. He came to destroy it, and purify us in THIS LIFE:

Tit 2:11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,
Tit 2:12 training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,
Tit 2:13 waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
Tit 2:14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
Tit 2:15 Declare these things; exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you.

People who continue to do the works, that Jesus came to destroy, they themselves will be destroyed. This is why Jesus has called us to repentance, because through His Grace which teaches us, if we have FAITH an obey Him and follow Him, He will destroy the sin in our lives. Those who continue to sin reject His voice, His Words, His teachings and His truth. If we do not believe it is possible, if we do not believe through Jesus we can cease from sin, then how can we possibly begin to walk in it?

1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons,
1Ti 4:2 through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared,

Many people do not believe, because the issue is they are still sinning, making excuse, not learning from Jesus, not taught by His Grace, they continue in their corrupt ways and create new doctrines that support their life of sin; sins they cannot stop doing. They then teach others their corruption.

The situation is if you want to stop sinning, you must go to Jesus learn from Him and do what He says. It is sad because there are many Christians who say they want too but just refuse to believe it is possible, when nothing is impossible with God. It is sad because there are even some out there who cannot admit they want to completely and utterly stop. You ask them “Do you even want to stop sinning?” And they cannot answer the question. These same people teach others and kill them. If you want to stop sinning go to Jesus and do as He says, believe He is able to teach, lead and change you, through His Words.

How to stop sinning.
